The director of the Management Division is committed to developing an extraordinary team of managers and supervisors to empower, engage, and assist employees in reaching their full potential. The annual Director’s Award for Leadership Excellence recognizes management-level staff members who distinguish themselves and the division through their leadership.

Honorees receive a framed certificate and a cash award. In addition, a plaque with the names of all honorees is displayed in the reception area near the division director’s office.

Nomination and Selection Process

  • Employees will be invited to submit nominations of managers and supervisors for this annual award to Deidre Grant. Officers are not eligible for the award.
  • Nominations must be submitted in writing (e-mail is fine) and should clearly address reasons the nominee should be selected and ways in which he/she meets established criteria for leadership excellence.
  • A limited number of recipients are selected by a vote from the division's officers.

In addition, nominees should demonstrate leadership capabilities in areas such as strategic thinking, communication, and performance management.

Announcement

The awards are presented by the division director at the annual division holiday party. Honorees are not announced ahead of time. Afterwards, an article highlighting the honorees will be posted on the division website.
