Requesting Student Intern
The Board hires high school and college students that are recruited through several methods. Participation in the Avenues Internship Program (formerly known as the Student Assistant/Summer Intern Program) can be meaningful for both the division and the student if the assignments are substantive.
- The request for a summer assistant/intern should be made according to your specific needs. If you don't think you have enough work to keep a student busy during the entire period, you may want to consider sharing the intern with another section in the division. B&A will try to accommodate your needs; however, there are a limited number of slots available to be shared by all divisions at the Board.
- Family members and relatives will not be allowed to work in the division; however, they are eligible for internship opportunities in other divisions.
- The form "Request for Student Assistant(s)/Intern(s)" will need to be completed in its entirety. Be sure to include skills required, project/work description, and preference. If you wish to request a returning student, check the box for “previous student,” and include the student’s name in the pop-up box.
- When you select “submit,” an e-mail with the request form attached, will be generated and addressed to the Management Division coordinator with a copy to Talent Management.
- Make sure you have received the appropriate division approvals before submitting your request form.
Please contact your division coordinator in B&A (Sina James at 452-3782) or your division administrator if you have questions. Recruiting will not begin until the request is finalized through B&A.
