Invitation to attend a Safe to Speak session
Why?
Feedback from the Board’s Employee Engagement Survey identified that a large percentage of employees don’t feel that it’s safe to speak up or constructively challenge things at the Board. In order to create more great days at work, we need to better understand why people don’t feel it’s safe to speak up, so we’re asking for your help.
What?
You’re invited to attend a short facilitated session (less than 1 hour; see schedule below) to help clarify this concern that we’re calling “Safe to Speak.” We will use electronic polling devices (“clickers”) to collect your responses to about 30 questions, and you’ll have the opportunity to provide your anonymous thoughts in writing about what might improve safety to speak from your own perspective. We are offering sessions for officers/managers separate from sessions for staff. This is an exclusive invitation for MGT; other divisions will receive invitations over the next few weeks.
What about confidentiality?
We know this is a concern and it’s the primary reason we will be using the “clickers” to gather information. The data you provide will be rolled up only at the Board and division levels. While these sessions are completely voluntary, your opinion matters a lot, and we urge you to attend! We are not keeping track of who attends any session (which is why we’re NOT using FedLearn for scheduling) – the information that you provide is the most important thing.
How do I sign up?
Choose a session from the list by clicking on the link. If you have questions, contact Annita Cox. Capacity for sessions is 25, first-come/first-served. To further ensure anonymity, all sessions will be held in the HR Training Room, K-3210. We ask that you arrive on time so that we can end on time. And, if you enroll PLEASE attend as there are a limited number of sessions available!
