With an inspiring video setting the stage, the Power of 500 was introduced by directors Michell Clark and Bill Mitchell to more than 170 DFM and MGT employees on April 23, 2014. The Power of 500 is part of the divisions’ Legendary Service initiative.

The announcement was made at International Square and shown live to a conference room in the Martin Building and telecommuters via Lync and video conferencing.

“This is an opportunity for us to tap into the intellect, creativity , experience, and yes the power, of the staff in both divisions to encourage everyone to think about, suggest, and help us implement innovative ideas that will improve customer service and help us do our jobs more efficiently and effectively,” said DFM Director Bill Mitchell.

“This is really helping us to look at our day-to-day operations,” said MGT Director Michell Clark. “We have expended a lot effort around the strategic initiatives that are out there, and rightfully so, but we also need to be looking at what we are doing on a day-to-day basis. Bill and I recently attended a meeting with other Board division directors and their message was clear that we need to stay focused on making the day-to-day operations easier for everyone.”

Staff are encouraged to generate ideas, both big and small, that will help improve service. “Sometimes the smallest change in the way we do business can have a tremendous impact on our customers,” said Bill.
